Interested in Volunteering in New Orleans?

Here at HandsOn New Orleans we try to make finding volunteer opportunities as fun and easy as possible.

To accomplish this we offer the following resources free to the public.

Volunteer Orientations

HandsOn New Orleans invites all perspective volunteers to attend a short, 1 hour long Volunteer Orientation. Volunteer Orientations offer perspective volunteers the chance to learn about the various volunteer opportunities available in their community, how to sign-up to attend service projects, and general tips on how to be a good volunteer.

A Comprehensive Project Calendar

The HandsOn New Orleans Project Calendar lists volunteer opportunities throughout the city. These opportunities are hosted by a variety of organizations and are not limited to solely HandsOn New Orleans projects. Once you find a project you can sign up for it on the calendar.

Volunteer Leader Program

If you are looking to make a long term commitment then the Volunteer Leader Program may be for you.

The Volunteer Leader Program trains local community members to work with local non-profit organizations in need of greater capacity. Our volunteer leaders commit to volunteering on a regular basis and assisting a non-profit with leading other volunteers.  We host Volunteer Leader trainings where you can learn tips on project planning, volunteer management, and how to access other helpful community resources. Once you’re ready to get started, HandsOn can help you recruit volunteers, provide you with planning guidance, lend you tools and equipment, help you recruit skilled labor, and more!
