Hands On New Orleans believes corporations are entities made up of individuals with great potential for community good. We develop and deliver flexible, team-oriented volunteer experiences for companies large and small throughout the year. Hands At Work offers companies an efficient means of mobilizing employees to make a positive difference in the community. Your projects can be designed around holidays or corporate milestones, during the week or weekend, on a one-time basis or more frequently. Hands On New Orleans creates and manages corporate service projects on a donation-for-service basis, with contributions supporting your project and our year-round volunteering programs. Potential projects include school renovations, home rebuilds, park clean ups, landscaping, painting, and light construction. Our customized projects deliver high impact results with a
tangible
difference and meaningful team building all in a day of service.
Benefits of the Hands at Work program:
Giving is a two way street. Here’s what you get from us:
Let Us Identify the Project:
Based on our relationships in the city, we match your goals and interests with the needs of the community. We serve as the point of contact with the agencies or homeowners
being served.
Let Us Do the Work Assessments: We develop a work plan outlining the project tasks and the number of volunteers needed to perform each task to ensure the project can be completed in the time allotted with the number of volunteer specified.
Let Us Do the Supply Planning: We determine all the supplies needed for the project and deliver them to the project before the project begins
Let Us Lead the Project: We lead your volunteers at the day of service. Hands At Work staff give your volunteers a brief orientation of the site and work to be accomplished, and provide guidance from start to finish. We also provide context setting and service-learning so that volunteers have a better understanding of their work, the agency/homeowner, and the value of their service. Companies can recruit and provide employee team leaders that Hands On staff will train to lead specific tasks during the day of service. Having employees serve as team leaders is a great way to facilitate leadership, and ensure team buy-in.
Let Us Be HR:
We distribute and collect evaluations compiling a report summarizing their accomplishments and thoughts on the day.
Get More Results In the Office:
Companies participating in the Hands at Work program report heightened employee morale and loyalty, and team work. Hand At Work projects foster meaningful memories and allow co-workers to constructively get to know each other, and ultimately work better together. Fostering employee volunteerism is a creative and powerful team-building tool that will pay dividends long after the project is complete.
Get Noticed with A Positive Image:
Both employees and the community take notice of
companies that do good. There’s no way to fully
quantify the brand recognition, loyalty and
appreciation that results from making a difference in
the lives of homeowners, school children, and the
larger community.
