Community Partner Services
Connect with Volunteer Leaders
Hands On recruits Volunteer Leaders who are
responsible for managing all volunteers
communicating scheduling information between the
Partner Agency and Hands On New Orleans staff,
managing project sign-ups, and working with the
agency contact to oversee the event. Our programs
are designed to produce high-quality, meaningful
volunteer projects. Once we mutually decide to
work together, Hands On New Orleans will work to
match you with a Volunteer Leader. However, we
cannot guarantee either that we will be able to
match your agency with a Volunteer Leader, or that
we will provide a given number of volunteers. Be
aware that in general, we need at least one month
notice to find a Volunteer Leader and advertise a
project
List Your Volunteer Needs
Post your longer-term volunteer opportunities to
the Local Community Projects section of our
website. This allows volunteers to directly sign
up for your projects on our website, with their
information sent to you or the volunteer leader to
communicate about the project. If your agency
already has a volunteer coordinator this can be an
additional means for recruiting volunteers. You
can elect to have volunteers sign up directly on
our website for a project, or have volunteers
directly referred to your agency for your contact.
Projects are created by your agency and supported
through Hands On programs.
Programs Criteria includes
-Done in a day (usually 3-7 hours)
-Group based
-Hands-on activity

For these projects, the Community Partner agency has overall responsibility for managing the project: designing the project, arranging to have necessary tools or supplies, providing orientation and/or training to volunteers at the beginning of the project, and being present during the entire project.
