Working in neighborhoods across Baton Rouge and Baker, HandsOn New Orleans' staff and volunteers began working on chainsaw crews just days after Hurricane Gustav made landfall in order to help residents remove fallen trees from their property. HandsOn's chainsaw crews targeted the homes of the elderly and Baton Rouge police officers in offering their volunteer tree and debris removal services.

Since returning to New Orleans, HONO has deployed a volunteer chainsaw crew to Lafyette to remove trees and debris in this hard hit area. If you are interested in volunteering for a chainsaw crew, click here to sign up to receive more information.
