HandsOn New Orleans works in partnership with community-based agencies to provide volunteers with a variety of meaningful opportunities for service and leadership. Hands On Community Partners can be non-profits, schools or government entities; and must be bi-partisan and non-discriminatory.

HandsOn New Orleans can offer a variety of services to our Community Partners, including the following:

List Your Volunteer Needs on Our Project Calendar

HandsOn invites Community Partners to post volunteer opportunities on our online Project Calendar.  Our Project Calendar is promoted on our website, and directly to visiting volunteers (up to 50 a night) staying in the HONO Volunteer House.  Volunteers sign up for your projects through our website, and our calendar forwards volunteer information directly to the coordinator for the project.

Not only is this a great recruitment tool for your projects, but our technology can manage all of the volunteer information on your behalf.

For more information, or to start posting projects today, contact Troy Venechanos at tvenechanos@handsonneworleans.org or call 504.483.7041.

Community Resources

Need to borrow tools for an upcoming project, or need help recruiting a certain skill set?  HandsOn New Orleans has a variety of resources we offer to our community including:
-Tool Lending
-Skilled Labor Recruitment
-Volunteer Leader Training
-Volunteer Recruitment
-Project Planning Resources and Guidance

Connect with Volunteer Leaders

HandsOn New Orleans recognizes that many of our Community Partners may have project needs but may not have the capacity or staff to manage volunteers or project logistics.  For these partners, we can connect your project to a HandsOn Volunteer Leader, who can work with your agency or school to make your project ideas a reality.  Volunteer Leaders are community members who have been trained by HandsOn in volunteer management and project planning. Additionally, Volunteer Leaders know how to access HONO’s community resources.

We will post your projects in our project bank for adoption and try to match your project idea with one of our Volunteer Leaders.  Once your project has been adopted, Volunteer Leaders can handle recruitment, volunteer communication, and project logistics on your behalf.

Don’t let a limited capacity keep you from tapping into the volunteer pool in New Orleans!
